About Me
Curiosity: Humanity's greatest virtue
From a young age, curiosity has always been an integral part of my personality. I was one of those kids who would ask a seemingly endless amount of questions. When I started school, books became the source of the answers I craved and today the internet serves a similar role. My desire to learn about and understand the world around me, paired with my competitive nature, is what made me such an impressive scholar. Furthermore, it led me to pick up a diverse amount of skills and a wide variety of interests.
A diversified individual
I would describe myself as a future Jack of all trades. Although I am already a versatile person, I am still young and with the experience of age, my versatility will only increase. Nevertheless, I currently have a wide variety of interests. From cooking and baking to playing video games to reading novels to hiking and playing sports, I enjoy both the indoors and the outdoors. Yet, if I were to pick my three largest interests they would be soccer, photography, and listening.
Soccer has always been my favorite sport. Having grown up in Kenya, where it is the most popular pass-time, it is something that is deeply embedded in who I am. I grew up playing soccer, watching soccer, reading about soccer, playing soccer video games, and even writing about it in my literature classes. Today I am still an avid consumer of the sport and I support the English club Manchester United.

My interest in photography stems from my appreciation of nature and its beauty. Landscapes are my favorite things to take photos of because obtaining those pictures forces me to travel to those places. Although there is still so much of the world that I am yet to see, having only traveled to 8 countries so far, I plan to explore the various unique places that the world has to offer. And in my travels, my camera will always be a cherished companion.

Having been curious from such a young age, I came to the realization that there is too much that exists that it would be impossible to experience it all in one lifetime. Therefore, to compensate, I became a good listener. To appease my curiosity, I obtain most of my answers through listening to experts on the topic rather than experimenting myself. A lot of my experience and knowledge in life comes from hearing other people's stories. Often you can obtain more from listening to a passionate person talk about their interests than you would obtain researching the topics yourself.
This curiosity-driven diversity also extends to my chosen field of study. I have an interest in both the physics-driven field of mechanics and the anatomy branch of biology. That is why my chosen field of engineering is biomedical engineering which applies engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. The integration of these two fields will greatly advance healthcare treatment which will serve an integral part in the evolution of the human race. In the future, I hope to play an active role in this evolution.
